American Idol Final Tonight

It's obvious these two can both sing, but they're on totally different levels as to each other. I think it all comes down to who has the most potential to sell the most records AFTER the show's over. I think that is Ruben. Clay's got talent, but he's better off doing plays somewhere, plus he kind of looks like the freckled face kid on MAD magazine. Remember him? I don't think this is really up to the American public as they say. Truely, if Clay ends up getting more votes than Ruben, you don't think the show's producers, investors, etc. is going to let him grab the title when they think Ruben can sell more records after the show, right? If there ever was an event that is "fixed" I think a show like this is it. C'mon, how would we ever know which one gets more votes? Like I said, even if Clay gets more votes, they can just say, "it was a close one, but Ruben wins by.."

I think Ruben takes more of the votes that were cast for Kimberly Locke last week.

Justin Guarini (last year's runner up), CLEARLY had MUCH more marketability than Kelly, the eventual winner, and, they let her take home the crown. It's a very similar situation. She had the MUCH better voice, but he had the MUCH higher marketability, and, the american public decided on giving it to her.

Clay will win this tonight. I'm confident in that.

It will be very interesting...I'm fairly confident I know who the winner will be, but I'm waiting to see if the odds change before putting down.

I've never seen an episode of American Idol. But I took the favorite here, I hope whoever he is wins!

the favorite is Ruben, the large African-am. that's compared to Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass. There's an episode tonight I think, and the final is tomorrow night. Those producers are milking every last drop. lol.

Well, whataya know, Olympic has a 700 dollar limit on this. I wonder how indicitive that America Online poll is going to be of the actual results. I bet it's pretty similar to the final outcome... Am I wrong here?

Oren, I think you are wrong on this one. I feel that this is Reuben's to take, and, by the way, there was only 2% of the vote separating these two last week, which tells me that the 12 percent separating them this week in the AOL poll is WAY off. And, something else for you to ponder, Reuben was one of the bottom three vote getters in an earlier round, which tells me that he may not have QUITE the support that people think.

My money is on Clay. Got him at +250 a few weeks ago.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I don't know, 56% out of 3/4 of a million sounds like a good sample... Usually polls like this aren't off by more than 5% which would make this extremely tight. People hammering the phone lines can sway it as well, or did they somehow take care of that problem? I doubt it.

Oren, last week the third place winner Kimberly Locke was voted off and she was a slightly overweight black girl with a good voice.. They said the votes were extremely close between all three contestants.. So I think Ruben could get some of the "black" vote if you will of people that picked Kimberly Locke last week. Of course if the females that voted for Kimberly prefer Clay over Ruben that could shoot down my theory..

I still think Kimberly and Ruben might have been splitting a good bit of the black vote, and Ruben could see a bump in this final vote.

"Ruben could get some of the black vote"? C'mon now, Ruben will get ALL of the black vote IMO that went to Kimberly. There is no fukkin way that Clay appeals to the black population. On the other hand, Ruben DOES appeal to the white masses.

That sucks, the voting is over tonight.. I was hoping to wait and make sure Ruben didn't tank. He has been pretty consistent so far though.

Also, I wonder how many new voters will just tune in for tonights episode? And if they would likely lean one way or the other..

Your right son of a gun, but what about the white females that voted for Kimberly? Alot of these younger girls seem to like dorky ass Clay for some reason.. I would like to know how the female vote breaks down b/w Ruben and Clay and how significant a difference it is. Of course, out of all three I think Kimberly Locke would have been the least attractive to the really young girl voters in the first place..

I'm not sure why these young white girls like Clay. The kid needs a lot of testosterone pumped into him for sure. However, I think just as much as the young white girls like Clay, the young black girls like Ruben! If you saw that episode where all three remaining contestants went back to their home towns, they showed local Alabama high school girls going crazy over Ruben.

Two~Niner hits it right on the nose about Ruben will now be getting the majority of Kimberly Locke's votes now. Listne, if you know music, then you know Clay is cleary more talented than Ruben. He sings any song, and can hit any note.The problem I have here is I dont think Fox plays fair anyhow. I do not think they decide by America's votes like they claim. They eliminate and move on whoever they think will better benefit ratings up to now. As of the Final, as I said, Clay is clearly the more talented singer, but Fox probably gives the title to Ruben regardless who receives more votes.
